National Convention IX
07/15-17/2011
The brothers of Mu Colony attended this year’s Beta Chi Theta convention which was held in Miami, Florida. In Miami, brothers from Mu Colony were able to meet their fellow brother from around the nation and build bonds that they will be able to share for years to come. This weekend upheld the pillars from which our brotherhood is built and we were able to experience each of them in different ways. There were leadership seminars which brought all the brothers together to discuss the future direction for which the brotherhood will be heading. Brothers experience many things in Miami, from the wild nightlife to the scorching beach. The weekend ended with the presentation ceremony and the gala dinner. Mu Colony was granted Chapter Status at this year’s convention! Thank you to all the brothers involved in this year’s convention and to all the brothers who attended and made this year’s convention one that we will never forget! BETA BETA!
Independence Day Bash 3.0

To celebrate this year’s Independence Day, the brothers of Mu Colony threw their third annual Independence Day Bash at Status Night Club. The event brought together current and new students from the University of Florida to celebrate the holiday and was a great success. Thank you to all those who attended the event and showed their support for the Brother of Mu Colony.
Founder’s Retreat

This summer, the brothers of Beta Chi Theta held their first Founder’s Retreat in Tampa, Florida. This weekend was filled with moments of true brotherhood, involving reconnecting with each other, sports events, soaking up the sun on the beach, and a brotherhood dinner. All the brothers had a great time bonding with each other and look forward to next year’s founder’s retreat.
Mu Chapter – Zeta Class

Beta Chi Theta at Mu Chapter would like to congratulate the newest brother to join our brotherhood, Zeta Class. These six gentlemen have proven beyond a doubt their ability to become a part of this brotherhood. They have shown all of us their true passion to become brothers of Beta Chi Theta. Philanthropy Week: Beating Heart Disease

The brothers of Mu Chapter participated in a week long full of events which pertained to informing the public about the risk Heart Disease. The week involved spreading awareness of the disease with the traditional painting of the wall on 34th street, an informational about CPR, and a benefit dinner which donated a portion of the proceeds to the American Heart Association. Thank you for all those who supported our efforts and attended events throughout the week.
Beta Chi Theta and alpha Kappa Delta Phi Mixer

The brothers of Beta Chi Theta and the lovely ladies of alpha Kappa Delta Phi co-hosted a social mixer at Alley Cats bowling alley. Both Greek organizations had a great time getting to know one another and learn more about each other. After bowling the sisters of aKDPhi showed us how to do a stroll and the brothers showed the ladies how to do a traditional bhangra performance. The night was one to remember for both organizations.
Mu Colony – Epsilon Class

National Convention VIII

On the weekend of July 16th, Brothers from the University of Florida attended their annual National Convention in Austin, Texas. Here, they were met by Brothers from around the nation, from different chapters and colonies, ages, ethnicities, etc. marking a true example of our unified nationwide network pillar. The convention consisted of many leadership seminars and forum discussion sessions, in which all Brothers from freshmen in college to young professionals discussed the future direction and vision of this new, yet innovative organization. However, don’t be fooled, when our workshops were over, Brothers enjoyed each other’s company and experienced the best of nightlife that Austin had to offer. The convention culminated with our gala dinner, where the national awards were presented and served as the last goodbyes for the newly established bonds that were created. The Brothers came back with unforgettable memories that truly exemplified brotherhood, above all else. We would also like to congratulate our Brothers from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities for receiving Chapter status!
2nd Annual Independence Day Bash

To celebrate America’s national holiday, the Gentlemen of Beta Chi Theta held their second annual Independence Day Bash at Rue Bar on July 3rd. On top of being a great success and upholding our reputation as a social fraternity, we gathered around 300 summer semester students and Brothers from the Southeast region. We would like to thank all attendees and out-of-town Brothers for their continued support and we hope to celebrate again with you next year.
Mu Colony – Delta Class

Mu Colony of Beta Chi Theta would like to give a warm welcome to our newest line, Delta Class. They have shown their true characteristics, and they are next to none. They have tremendous pride for this fraternity and have shown true brotherhood throughout their entire new member process. Once again, congratulations to Suraj Modi, Jai Umesh Patel, Deep Mehta, Abbas Jessa, and Vick Patel – Mu Colony Delta Class.
Eastern Regional Conference 2010

This past weekend all the eastern chapters and colonies of Beta Chi Theta, National Fraternity Inc. joined together to hold our annual conference at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. We reunited with brothers from other colonies and chapters at the conference and discussed the progress each and every chapter has been making. Two awards were given out at the conference, the first being the Brother of the Year which was given to Max Hammond of Theta chapter at Vanderbilt University. The second award, The Chapter of the Year was given to our very own Mu Colony. We take tremendous pride in the progress Beta Chi Theta – Mu Colony has made and hope to continue our legacy by making great strides in all of our pillars.
Alliance Party 2010

Beta Chi Theta, Sigma Lambda Beta and Pi Delta Psi hosted an Alliance party to show the true unity in the Multicultural Greek Council. With the collaboration in the planning stages to the actual day of the event, the party turned out to be a great success. All three of the organizations were able to get to know one another better as well as enjoy a great night. We would like to thank everyone that showed up to the event and helped make it a tremendous evening.
Greek Week 2010

Beta Chi Theta participated in the annual Greek Week competition at the University of Florida hosted by the Order of the Omega. The entire week consisted of many various activities including The Opening Ceremonies & Torch Relay, Charity Night, Greek Olympic Games, Service Day, and Closing Ceremonies & Awards. Throughout the week Fraternities and Sororities from all different councils participated, competed and volunteered to represent what being a Greek is all about at the University of Florida. The brothers of Beta Chi Theta illustrated their pride in their fraternity by finishing first place in the overall competition with Team Dionysus as well as first place in the Multicultural Greek Council for chapter participation. Congratulations to all fellow Fraternities and Sororities for a successful and memorable Greek Week!
Beta Chi Theta & Gamma Eta Mixer
The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta and the Sisters of Gamma Eta co-hosted their first social mixer on November 17th at the Woodlands Clubhouse. There, both Greek organizations learned a traditional Indian dance called Bhangra as well as a Latin-American dance, Merengue, with the help by students apart of the UF Bhangra Club.Parents’ Day Luncheon
The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta hosted their first Parents’ Day Luncheon on November 15th, 2009. During this momentous event, the Brothers presented an informative presentation about the fraternity, followed by an extravagant lunch. The parents learned tons about the fraternity, and were overwhelmed by the amount of positive work the fraternity does for the University of Florida and its surrounding community.
Philanthropy Week: Beating Heart Disease

The Brothers of Beta Chi Theta hosted their Fall 2009 Philanthropy Week which promoted awareness of heart disease. They hosted events such as a 3v3 basketball tournament, heart disease seminar, and a club party where the proceeds made from these events went to the American Heart Association. Beta Chi Theta would like to thank all of its supporters and the American Heart Association for their great effort and assistance in bringing awareness to continuously fight heart disease.
Brotherhood Event: LSU Road Trip

Beta Chi Theta believes that road trips help to further develop the bond of brotherhood shared between each and every Brother. This semester the Mu Colony Brothers made a road trip to Baton Rouge and New Orleans, where the UF Gators football team was to match up with the LSU Tigers. There, the Brothers watched, along with the rest of Gator Nation, as the Gators chomped the Tigers.
AHA Heart Walk

The Brothers of Mu Colony participated in the Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association which over 1000 people attended. Five o’clock in the morning, the Brothers helped set up the event to ensure the event ran smoothly and everyone in attendance had a great time! They also motivated the walkers as well as tended to their needs during the heart walk in the different stations set up at the site.
